Wiiinter break!
I apologize for being MIA for the past few months. I’ve been busy with school work and other things.
On the bright side, I went on a road trip in the northern east coast with my family. So, I’ll have pictures from New York and Washington, DC soon.

GLBT ALLY RALLY. State Not Hate. I made it on the local news! I’m shown several times and even doing a little dancing. haha
About 400 N.C. State University students gathered Thursday afternoon on the Brickyard to raise awareness of diversity following a recent hate incident.
On Monday night the University’s Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Center was vandalized. Someone...

I want to live in a place where no one cares about each other’s appearance, sex, gender, skin color, beliefs, religion, traditions, background, interests, insecurities, flaws, taste in music, dreams, goals, wants, and needs. I want to live in a place where people are willing to learn about others and are open minded to new things and new places. I want to live in a place where everyone can...

I'M GOING TO GUATEMALA!
to volunteer during my spring break! (I really wanted Nicaragua, but this was my second choice) I’m pretty excited! I really need to actually save enough money. I need a job and to do a bunch of fundraising. I also added a “donate” button on my page, just in case anybody wants to help. We will be tacking gender issues and do a lot of volunteering there.

I get to be on the team!!
From my last post, I said that I wanted to volunteer to go to Nicaragua during my spring break and they accepted my application and I GET TO BE ON THE TEAM! They actually gave me three choices, so I chose Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Pennsylvania. I don’t find out which group I’m in until Tuesday, but I really hope it’s Nicaragua! Yay! Totally worth all the essays.

Even though I hate presenting in huge crowds, I’m kind of in love with my Public Speaking class. Why? Because I get the chance to talk about travel in all of them.

President Barack Obama came to speak in my university today. It was surreal. The crowd was so pumped up and he was an incredible speaker. The 8 hours of camping out at the brickyard and all the stressing just to get tickets along with the 3 hour wait before his speech were definitely worth it. In addition, I got to take pretty close shots of him. He talked about passing the American Jobs Act which...

International Ambassador
Yesterday, I made a new friend and when we hung out today, I found out that he is an International Ambassador. I want to be just like him so bad! He went all over Asia this summer for free (excluding personal expenses) to represent my university to get international students interested. I think I’ll be a good European Ambassador. It’s one of my goals now.
Also, I went to a volunteer...

Has anybody ever volunteered in Africa or South America (specifically during the summer)? I really want to do it next summer.I’m not familiar with organizations and the costs, so if you have any suggestions, that would be great. Message me here !I want to build houses, wells, etc. I just think that it would be an awesome experience.

Travel Tip: Screw Cynics
If you really want to travel, construct a plan and do it. Take risks. Who cares if your plan isn’t realistic? “Realistic is used to do two things simultaneously: one, to criticize. Two, to justify.” Read the rest of the article here
